Why do librarians care?

• Bash lets you automate repetitive tasks easily
  • type a command see if it works
  • scroll back through a command history and cherry pick useful commands
• The command line no longer lives in isolation from the graphic user interface
  • You can cut and paste commands

RSD: The last one is a big one. In the old days of green screens cutting and pasting wasn’t standardized. Today this isn’t really a problem.
