Version Control with Git: Setup

• Everyone be sure to have an account on github.com (create one at github.com/join if you do not have one).

GitHub Desktop (Graphical User Interface)

• Windows and macOS users please download from desktop.GitHub.com and follow those instructions.
• Linux users, please download from GitHub.com/ShiftKey/desktop/releases one of the packages compatible with your Linux distribution.

Git (Command Line Interface)

• Windows users please download from git-for-windows.github.io/ and follow those instructions.
• Mac users please download from git-scm.com/download/mac and follow those instructions.
• Linux users, if Git is not already available on your machine you can try to install it via your distro’s package manager. For example, on Debian/Ubuntu run sudo apt-get install git and for Fedora run sudo dnf install git.
